Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT)
Dialectical behavioral therapy is a structured, evidence-based and effective therapy for teens who are struggling with controlling their emotions, impulsivity, self-injurious behavior, chronic suicidal behavior and substance use. This therapy helps teens to learn skills based on: Mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT teaches teens to engage and learning about emotions control to decrease in unsafe and concerning behaviors. DBT helps teens to engage and acceptance for who they are while changing their behaviors from ineffective wants to the effective ones.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a problem focused and action oriented therapy.
It focuses on how our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interconnected.
Recognizing negative thought pattern and changing it to positive thought pattern by leraning new coping will lead to positive behaviors.
At strong minds teens will have the opportunity to practice different new coping skills to see what works for them.
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Motivational interviewing helps teens to explore and overcome feelings of ambivalence.
This technique helps teens and therapist to find out the reasons that teens are holding to certain behaviors and have difficulty in making mind to change that behavior.
It helps teens to have inner motivation to make positive changes in their life.
Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
Interpersonal psychotherapy helps teens to improve their interpersonal functioning by improving self image.
This helps them to manage peer pressure and developing more stable relationships.
Mindfullness, Yoga and Meditation
